The SGA believes that it is essential for Johns Hopkins to uphold its commitment to ethics, humanitarian values, and transparency. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your response. We would appreciate the opportunity to meet to discuss the following:
- Can you describe the general process of the Visiting Fellow appointments, what their required duties will be on campus and interacting with students, and are there any roles for students to participate in or provide feedback for the Visiting Fellow appointments?
- How can SGA play a role in SNF Agora and their processes (as our purpose is also to foster discussion)?
- Why were the emails from students about Johnnie Moore not responded to? How have you responded to other student concerns in the past?
- How does Agora view the activities of fellows outside of their appointments? Does an appointment by Agora equate to university support for external actions?
- Would association with Fellows or other Agora appointments affect the reputation of the university due to their actions?
- Are there considerations for reevaluating Moore’s appointment in light of current events and concerns raised by the international community, including over 170 humanitarian organizations, the UN, and several human rights organizations? Can Agora rescind the appointment?
