peterson: once we get the details your president (jazz) will send out. will have liight refreshements

jazz: now going into time of senator reports. is sid here ? hm, did any other senator have a report they'd like to give

peter: outside of finance, main thing was working was national call to action, thanks to kevin and [] about the talibng, been workign on that, be helpful about getting responses together, getting the sureys out. also on academic affairs, been working on a survey for the pask week, also about tabling, also want to do research into ams/math having issues/conflicts

paul: few initiatives working on; do you guys also have to mfa to login? it piss-; it is very annoying do you know what passkeys; trying to get passkeys as default should be a pretty easy push, just need to know how in it to contact; would also be nice to give plot on land for PERCH to use; they do drives to plans to campus; would also liek to talk to landscaping about this; if you guys have anny connections let me know

senator of the month!!

jazz: for those who don't know, we will now be voting

jackson: would like to move to nominate sophia, can't thin of a more deserving

jazz: do you accept

sophia: yes but will have to nominate jackson; guys he knows everybody on this campus somehow; very generous ability to connect to people; kind of thing we should be rewarding

sumi: can i nominate nifemi; though being a new senator has been meeting with charles with all senators; meeitngs with charles and i throughout all

veda; would like to nominate aishannee started all fo tr things over the summer ; has already 2 events going

amy: nominate arjun; we mentinon dbriefly; arjun was sitting in nlc; happened to hear about qualms, he wasn't necessarily invovlved in the finance or RSO, but took he time out of his busy week to mediate between us 2, very important skill to have as sga MEMBERS

JAZZ: arjun do you accept

arjun: yes

mahima: woud like ot nominate kayla; took the initiative; there was an issue with dining taking away all heritage/cultural days; she got them all back

jazz: kayla do you accept

kayls: i accept

jazz: nominated will receive attendance incentive; we are still hashing out what to give for the person receiving most votes; if you have any ideas, team is open!

we can do things another way if you all would like, ehads down

nora: i got it

jazz: ok it's live you get like a minute

time up nora we can close it

nora: senator of the month is….

jazz: sophia! congratulations, a workshopped items, very likely merch; you also get to be senator of the month; all of you on the board get attendance incentive

into approval of programming chair discretionary fund

peter: thought it would be fund to visualize for the year

for non annual, 46K today, 180K left, we are slightly over spending, 4500 weekly spending for the rest of the term; so far has been about 5K inr requests over the year; we start callbacks this year, we will take money back from clubs who don't spend it

demarri: motino to approve discretionary fund

second: [some]

aye: []

jazz: first reeding begins

shreemann: this is to establish a transfer caucus; transfer students do have a unique perspective, required by bylaws

laren: hi i am lauren, am transfer student attended community colelge before coming here, from northern virginia; i twent to cc at first to save money, did associates degree in 1 year, was pretty much mpe which is my current here at hopkins; am instrested indoing research in tech policy; off campus quite; am national women's caucus chair; if interested in democrat caucus or similar, let me know, happy to give contact, there are plenty of peopleacross the country

transfer struggles, primarily, impostor syndrome; very big change to come here; typically more rigorous coursework, 69 transfers this year, smaller group to talk to and meet; pretty sure was solved this year was credit loss, some people went from english to msh, other issues are financial aid, big reason i chose hopkins, many tranfers still truggle, know hopkins has gotten better considering how well-funded; in terms of housing, transfers have issue finding housing, did apply as junior as i have an associates; was very clueless not sure if i wanted to do this fuirst; told i was 2025, was put in oncampus, but separated from other transfers of the same year who were also on campus; friend groups are also an issue, but meeting as transfers in orientation group was nice, but still hard to get integrated at a new school

shreemann: so that is our bill

jazz: do we have any motion son the table for this bill

jackson: move to refer for consideration by internal affairs

second: aarshi

jazz: all those in favor say

aye:nay:abstentions:

paul: does anybody here knowwhat the CSAC is? basically focus group meeting with vp for affairs hernandez; SGA chooses for the homewood representative, but currently do not have a process in the rules/constitution/bylaws; currently have no representative, reflected on their website; am seeking to add some clauses

jackson actually did this, think we should do a moderated caucus for this, go over the few options <read>

cole: motion for a 10 minute moderated caucus

1st and 4th seem very similar

pual: you might prefer someone from legislative

veda: comment; am appointed to CSAC right now, so, we already have a member that is representing, i think it would look incredibly unprofessional to go to a large board and remove member who is currently representing, once the onboarding has already occurred; agree that we shoul dhave this, but not until next term

jackson: want to make sure we have input, also for future year, CSAC … .use to be …. has been watered down greatly, has now become an advisory board; whether through appointment or exec, … there are a lot of things that can be added, anybody's feedback or ideas would b ehlpful;

nora: agree with veda, she's on the board already this year, could just have a vote for putting her in, a mstrongly in favor in legislative ability

jazz: had a few thoughts, for this year, am very confident in veda's ability this year for CSAC; would like for this bill to be for further years, as well as give advice/reflect the beliefs of senators and other students and tell them

shreemann: completely agree, i think veda should be the csac for this year, there is precedent to have this go into effect next term; in terms of those future year, i think it should be a senator, am in favor of the option involving picking the exec or the senator

kai: echo, think veda will do a good job, currently bill says is vacant on the website, it is available on the website

paul: the website was blank at the time i checked it

kai: and the process, would you run for it within SGA

paul: that was my imagination, want someone who is really up to date abou tthings going on in the senate;

sean: think should be exec, who are elected by all students, very broad in scope; jason

jackson: worth noting, for future years, first duty of the first body is to speak for the student body in bylaws; important to understand why the csac is created; newsletter has questions like does it i; hope to have things involving students, like in cornell situation, having some say for the student boyd; something similar to the similar or, i believe gro has teh exec as this person, and if there is an unavoidable conflict; run for exec so you can do this

cole: motion to refer to iasecond: jackson, demarri

shreemann: ia meets saturday feel free to give opinions

grace:

demarri: motion to table indefinitelysecond: shremann

sophia: hope ur doing well was coming from athletics; saac shall be the student athlete advisor council; who knows what this is?

we want to recognize the disconnect between athletes; have worked with exec, are really trying to engage with students; they don't engatge with a lot of our events and stuff, trying to do outreach; they get up and they meet every month; saac try and meet with different; first real request to sga was recognize saac for being liaison

motion to refer to financenay:abstian:nay: paul

veda: my bill, heard it passed with negative recommendation; reason for such an open ended form is to reuse for future years; survey will be used to organize feedback for various departments at hopkins

demarri: motion for 3 min recess to read form

nora: it's one question lol

kevin: motion for 5 minute moderated caucussecond: shreemann, demarri

……...

..…...

.

..............jackson: great idea, have worked on something similar with ncta; very sometimes short answer; would be much better without index card

veda: any other suggestions

paul: nvm

sean: was the oen who read them all and categorized; generally they like chickfila

cole: motion to extend 5 minutes

royce: like the idea, over the index cards; quite easy to gamify so people don't just click; lengthen time a little but can get a lot of feedback

noah: veda you mentioned advertising, how do you plan on going through that process at the tabling event?

veda: one thing we are doing is to have this ont he stand up banner

; are people going to just take screenshot, unfortunately very common; someone suggested a liker scale; people might just straightline;

amy: this may sound od, what if you did like an experiment, one has to fill out line, one does index cards, so we know which works better

veda: don't want to put any more work on my committee members, or lose out on good feedback, think you're right, cost/benefit, people would've we will stay open to that

sophia:

demarri:

cole: as someone who walks past breezeway, a very in-depth google-form, writing, it's a lot for a cookie; less is likely more in some of these things; maybe 2 things at most, otherwise discourage, one mans opinion

sumi: what do you think about not being anonymous to avoid a sidechat;

natalie: maybe you have a raffle

: minimum character count

: motion to passsecond:aye:nay: demarri

16-13

shreemann: disciplinary marks shall start being used; be locked in !! any senator may bring marks of 0.5 and there will be automatic at 3

nora: and 2 yields a warning tounexcused absent; some of y'all are getting kind of closed

amy: attendancre related may be getting merch; want to be attendance based; come if you want merch!!!!

jazz: last is you all are doing amazing things, we are not in some type of mood or anything right now; you are all doing an amazin gjob; we have cohort liket hese

demarri: motion toa djournsecond: shreemann,
