AN SGA EVENT FUNDING BILL

ACT TO FUND SGA graduation Stoles and Coles 2026

INTRODUCED BY: CHAIR TYLER TURNER OF THE PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE

CONSIDERED THE DAY OF 31 IN THE MONTH OF March IN THE YEAR 2026

SECTION 1. TITLE This Act may be referred to as the “SGA Grad Funding Bill.”

SECTION 2. FINDINGS & PURPOSES

1. SGA — The term SGA shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University.
2. JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

1. FINDINGS & PURPOSES
   1. SGA recognizes the time and efforts dedicated by its graduating senators, presidents, and executive board members, many of whom have contributed multiple years to the organization. As a symbol of gratitude, SGA will provide graduation cords and stoles to all graduating members.
      1. Solid Navy cords represent 1 year on SGA
      2. Mixed Navy/White cords represent 2 years on SGA
      3. Stoles will be designed and will have the SGA logo on them
   2. Graduating and early graduating Members:

SECTION 4. FUNDING OF ITEMS

SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY.

Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional, or remainder of the Act, the amendments made by the Act, and the application of such provision or amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

UPON PASSAGE, WE HAVE HEREUNTO SET OUR HANDS AND CAUSED THE SEAL OF THE SENATE TO BE AFFIXED TO THIS BILL INDICATING THE SENATE’S ASSENT AND THUS OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED THE BILL’S ADOPTION AS LAW.
