Senate of the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University { S. Bill. 24-25} AMENDMENT OF THE SGA BYLAWS INTRODUCED BY: SENATOR DAARIAN ROUHANI CONSIDERED THE DAY OF 25TH IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY IN THE YEAR 2025 SECTION 1. TITLE. This Bill may be referred to as the “The Board of Directors Amendment” SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS. (a) SGA — The term “SGA” shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University. (b) JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University. (c) Board - The term “Board” shall refer to the Board of Committee Chairs SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES. (a) Implementation of the Board of Directors a. To establish the Board, in which the chairs meet at least once a month in order to increase assistance, awareness, collaboration, and transparency among committees and prospective initiatives SECTION 4. AMENDMENTS TO THE BYLAWS 4.1.2.6 THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 4.1.2.6.1 Membership 4.1.2.6.1.1 The Chairs of Standing Legislative Committees of the Senate and Ad-hoc Committees of the Senate are shall serve as members of the Board upon election by the senate 4.1.2.6.2 Responsibilities 4.1.2.6.2.1 To discuss and collaborate on all prospective initiatives where deemed necessary 4.1.2.6.2.2 To ensure senators have any necessary assistance and support on their initiatives 4.1.2.6.2.3 For the Chairs to educate their respective committees on prospective initiatives that may be applicable to them 4.1.2.6.3 Leadership 4.1.2.6.3.1 The Chair on Internal Affairs shall chair and lead the Board of Directors meetings 4.1.2.6.3.2 The existence and appointment of a Vice Chair shall be at the discretion of the Chair of the Board 4.1.2.6.3.3 The Chair of the Board of Committee Chairs shall provide typed summaries of the Board meetings to the Student Body President, Student Body Secretary, and President of the Senate following the conclusion of said meetings 4.3.3 ATTENDANCE 4.3.3.1.7 Attendance at Board Meetings is required for all Committee Chairs (a) The Amendment will be implemented into the JHU SGA bylaws upon ratification by the Committee on Internal Affairs and ⅔ senate majority SECTION 5 . SEVERABILITY. Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional or , the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby. UPON PASSAGE, WE HAVE HEREUNTO SET OUR HANDS AND CAUSED THE SEAL OF THE SENATE TO BE AFFIXED TO THIS BILL INDICATING THE SENATE’S ASSENT AND THUS OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED THE BILL’S ADOPTION AS LAW.
