Want 5 to maximize chances Application fees vary ~70$. Due soon. Will find out Nov 13thish about when they get into competition Short turnaround for submitting (Funding due Nov 17th) Must reach out ahead of time to get funding Want to go to competition in NC (usually takes buses or Amtrak closest in proximity and competition at Michigan state (NEW but much closer) Historically 50$ per person *18 people planned= 900 for each of the two competitions First competition in Jan 27 (first weekend back in classes) Would like to buy tickets in advance to ensure tickets are cheaper Actively fundraising and aplyign for grants to use group funds to get lodging SAC sustainability adjustments Issues with group funds, shifting funds Requests: Group name: JHU Kranti Requested: $2225 Gave: $1500 Comments: $1800 (50/member) for 2 competition registration fee. $425 for application fee to apply for competition, $767.53 in group funds – give $1500 as that is $300 over, pay application fee with group funds Yes: 11 No: Group name: Caribbean Cultural Society- Game night Requested: $239.13 Gave: 239.13 Notes: Game night is open to everyone! Request is primarily for food at the event ie pizza, wings, salad, etc. Estimated attendance is 30. Event is in November. $195.11 in group funds Comments: Yes: 11 No: Group name: Hopkins Ballet Company (TABLED) Requested: $2054 Gave: 1930 Notes: For their Nutcracker event, $124 for dress rehearsal food, $700 for shriver reservation and tech costs, $275 for Shriver custodial fees, $255 for DMC poster printing, $90 for printing programs and flyers, they will be covering $700 in nutcracker imprinted items, and $400 for time-sensitive tutus (with remaining $734 covered by us – they said that they didn’t submit a fall allocation request, cause they thought it was for if they had events early in the semester, they have $1768 in group funds Tabled due to no reply about group funds Comments: Hi Jenny, the group funds will be used for $400 of costumes (which were already purchased due to timing but may not have gone through to reduce group funds balance) as well as any additional costume/prop/set supplies that need to be purchased before funding comes in. $700 is allocated for the Nutcracker specific imprinted items, as well as a conservative estimate of $124 for food. That totals $1224. The remaining $500 we didn’t make concrete plans for because we didn’t know how much SGA would fund and wanted to have wiggle room. If we were to receive all requested funding, the $500 would go towards supplies for social events (food that currently just comes out of officers’ pockets), pointe shoes (one pair is ~$100+), and additional costume supplies that would be good to have but weren’t essential (rolling clothes rack for costume distribution at shows, better storage for items stored in Levering arts closet, laundry expenses, etc).
