SGA Executive Board Advisor Meeting April 7th, 2025 / 8 am EDT / Teams Virtual Meeting

Minutes

  1. Updates from Charles–Charles
    1. Charles and Jessica did not have any significant updates. Jessica said that campaigning is still going and voting is this week.
    2. When Tim asked about SGA awards, Charles said that he will take a look into it.
    3. Amy asked if the awards weren’t supposed to be given out in March, to which Charles said they happen in April but will be decided by us.
    4. Stone asked if these will be given out while we’re in our term, to which Charles said that he doesn’t know.
  2. Finance Update & Discussion–Brandon
    1. Stone and Brandon discussed two clubs, one of which asked for their budget to be approved while the other one was curious to hear if they could apply for an event grant.
  3. GBM Agenda–Nas
    1. There are some items from the Academic Affairs committee and DropBox link for committee chairs to upload their transition videos.
    2. Stone said that the senate is interested in sharing a resolution about ICE. When Charles asked what exactly we’re planning to share, Amy and Nasreen explained that they want to share a post about knowing your rights as a student.
    3. Charles believed that we’re at a slippery slope and disagreed about sharing this as it might cause SGA members to be targeted. Charles is concerned that the financial aid of the students will be attacked.
    4. Charles or Jessica will come to the GBM and explain why this should not be shared.
    5. Stone explained that there won’t be any direct mention of ICE in the post.
  4. Student Body Email Discussion
    1. Last week, Stone was informed that there could be updates about the student body email.
    2. Charles said that he was fine with the email, so he will work with Jessica to send it out today.
  5. Thank you, everyone
    1. Stone asked everyone to finish their transition documents by next Tuesday morning.
    2. This will probably be the last SGA meeting, but Stone will inform if there is a change to this.
    3. Tim will share a post on the SGA Instagram with some photos from the year, thanking everyone. Stone supported the idea.
