SGA Executive Board Advisor Meeting Feb 10, 2025 / 8 am EDT / Teams Virtual Meeting

Minutes

  1. Updates from Charles–Charles
    1. Charles: Wants to apologize. Feels like he hasn’t been the greatest advisor and making us feel neglected, not able to spend as much time with us and understands we have a lot we want to do and wants to make sure we can get everything done. He’s trying his best and they’re trying to get more people to LEED so he can focus on SGA.
    2. Stone: No need to apologize, we’re aware you’re occupied with other things. Hopes that LEED will be more staffed next year.
    3. Board of Trustees: He assumed we’d be presenting. There’s no Student Life meeting next semester. Had us meet because he wanted us to be prepared. No need to go to New York.
    4. Tim: Why’s there no student life? SGA has been going for a while.
    5. Charles: It was done once every two years. Wasn’t sure if we’d really care, so he didn’t push and said OK.
    6. Stone: All for staying on campus, not a priority.
    7. Charles: Trying to get an update on the email. Asked if we have time to meet (can be virtually).
    8. Stone: Why can’t we send the email you revised?
    9. Charles: Not special to SGA, been dealing with this everyday. University is very careful with the emails that are being sent out. Especially Diversity part. Every single email his staff wants to send out, Charles has to review. We’re trying to not show up on the radar.
    10. Stone and Charles will meet after noon today about the email.
    11. Shoutout to Tim as he has been working hard on class programming. No surprise to Charles.
  2. Finance Update & Discussion–Brandon & Stone
    1. Benjamin: Someone deleted the spring budget, had to stay up late, put all the numbers back manually. Frustrating to wake up one morning and see the whole thing gone. Everything else is okay. Should be good to send everything to their budgets today.
    2. Stone & Tim: Let us know next time if there are any problems.
    3. Stone: Will talk to privately sometime this week.
  3. Upcoming Events–Tim
    1. Tabling this week: Trying to understand how to do reimbursement through SGA. Chocolate is here, flowers will be bought by Tim. Two videos, one will be shared before Valentine’s Day and one will be shared on Valentine’s Day.
    2. Stone: Pizza?
    3. Tim: Pizza was ordered yesterday for the speed date meeting. Lots of chocolate, so he’ll make a reimbursement of 50 dollars to himself for the flowers.
