SECTION 1. TITLE. This Act may be referred to as SAAC T-Shirts

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS.

1. SAAC— The term “SAAC” shall refer to the Student Athlete Advisory Council of Johns Hopkins University.

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

1. The purpose of this initiative is to support and uplift student athlete leadership on campus and to honor the work this council has done throughout their multiple years of service.
2. SAAC meets weekly at 8:00 to plan outreach events, learn about initiatives and partnerships from other departments, and provide resources to their teammates, which compose a tenth of the student body population. Many of the executive board serve for several years as representatives, and this is a way to show gratitude for their contribution on campus.
3. Student athletes are typically distanced from the rest of campus, but through partnerships like this, we hope to strengthen ties and have them participate further with SGA and attend SGA events in the future.
4. SGA funding would allow this initiative to remain free and accessible to participating organizations and students. By eliminating costs or participation fees, additional financial burdens or lack of participation from the organizations are minimized.

SECTION 4. FUNDING OF ITEMS

1. The total amount funded by SGA would be $999.94
2. The total amount funded by Athletics would be 0.00.

SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY. Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional, the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 6. ACTION ITEMS

1. To be done by the SAAC before 10/17/2026: order T-shirts from BSN

The Bill is hereby ADOPTED/LOST by a vote of X to X with X abstentions.

Upon passage, we have hereunto set our hands and caused the seal of the Senate to be affixed to this bill indicating the Senate’s assent and thus officially designated the bill’s adoption as law.
