The Process Applicants had to fill out an application with questions designed to assess the qualifications and ideas that candidates would bring to the CSE Interviews were conducted over the course of yesterday and today Each applicant was personally interviewed by me, and another justice joined me for half the interview process

Jessy Cao I'm a BME major, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I joined CSE in order to further growth and positive change in our community! :) Looking forward to everything!

My Notes: Jessie illustrated a strong teamwork-based background through marching band and clubs in high school. She also had some great suggestions to make voters more informed about candidate policies when voting!

Irene Sung I’m a ChemBE (Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering) major, my pronouns are She/Her, and my reason for joining CSE: I decided to join CSE because I believe in the importance of a participatory student government and body. I was looking for the opportunity to actively engage in the democratic process and to also foster an inclusive environment where everybody feels heard, which I thought CSE would be the perfect fit for.

My Notes: Irene demonstrated a strong level of leadership skills. Through opportunities like IGEN, she learned valuable lessons about the importance of teamwork and listening to others. She brings diverse experience from all of her different encounters. Including going to school in South Africa!

Jasmine Lafita My primary major is Political Science, and I'm doubling in Cognitive Science. I use she/her pronouns. I decided to join the CSE to use my passion for election law to make sure our elections are not only fair and honest but also more exciting for students at Hopkins. My notes: Jasmine’s bring strong prior leadership experience in Debate and Model UN. Even being the Captain of her school’s debate team! She also brings great and innovative ideas such as possibly implementing I-voted stickers to increase student voter participation

Emily Hong My major is International Studies, I use she/her pronouns, and my reason for joining CSE: CSE is a great experience and opportunity to actively contribute to SGA and be a part of a diverse and hardworking community!

My Notes: Emily brings strong leadership and teamwork skills from helping to rebuild clubs in high school to playing varsity basketball! Emily also brings a passion for increasing student participation in elections and is ready to bring her tabling and event experience to SGA
