Executive Meeting #14

January 21st, 2025 / 11:00 AM / BSC 402

  1. Attendance
  2. Office hours bill
  3. Omotara reported we advised senator Sean to centralize the office hours to the exec a bit by using an incentive system.
  4. Srigouri suggested asking committees to make one of the committee meetings as office hours. That way we can advertise the office hours to a more specific committee for the prescheduled time and place.
  5. Omotara pointed out that the student body is not aware of the committees and it is more beneficial to have informal office hours to promote SGA presence.
  6. Tyler also said that the accessibility and approachable environment should be maintained.
  7. Vishnu and Srigouri emphasized that utilizing committee times would give more structure while still making it informal and accessible. Committee chairs can enforce the office hours.
  8. Omotara will be reaching out to Sean to inform that the office hours will be enforced through committees. The instagram post advertisement will be made by DoC Jo published at the beginning of the month. One office hour per semester for each committee. The committees will need to find a public space in BSC.
  9. The committee chairs will be asked to give us a summary of their office hours. There will be flyers and signs indicating “Talk to SGA.” We must go via IA since it requires constitutional amendment. Once Omotara finalizes the bill with Sean the bill should be sent to IA.
  10. Transparency from the executive board
  11. Omotara reported senators requested more transparency from the exec board about initiatives and meetings.
  12. Srigouri said we should utilize the exec report time to communicate our exec meeting activities with the senate.
  13. Charles reported they are working on setting up a meeting with the provost.
  14. Increased presence on campus
  15. Spring Retreat Cater: Poke bar, 1876, grilled chicken. Bila, Head shots, piano lesson, custom pillow cases. Breakout groups for each exec to lead.
  16. Administrative presentation
