Act to Fund JHU SGA Suggestion Boxes

SECTION 1. TITLE. This Act may be referred to as the “JHU SGA Suggestion Boxes”

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS.

  1. SGA — The term “SGA” shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University.
  2. JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University.

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES. FINDINGS & PURPOSES:

  1. The main purpose of these suggestion boxes is to have a physical resource to collect and document student feedback and complaints. Boxes will be stationed in Brody Learning Commons, the Bloomberg Student Center, and the Ralph O’Connor Recreation Center, respectively.
  2. Each month, the members of the Student Services Committee will collect the suggestions and discuss them in the committee meeting. These suggestions will be categorized and tracked in a spreadsheet. The most pressing issues (to be decided by the Student Services Committee) will be presented to the Student Government Association in the next GBM.
  3. Through this, we are advocating for additional transparency and communication between the Student Body Government and student body, offering students opportunities to provide anonymous (providing JHED is optional) and timely feedback. Ultimately, we want to provide the greatest student experience possible and serve our student body.

SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY. Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional or, the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

The Bill hereby Passes by a vote of x to 0 with 0 abstentions.

Upon passage, we have hereunto set our hands and caused the seal of the Senate to be affixed to this bill indicating the Senate’s assent and thus officially designated the bill’s adoption as law.
