113th Senate Committee on Civic Engagement

Meeting began at 2:33pm
Kirsten: First order of business. Meetings will continue virtually, but slowly we as a committee should transfer to fully in person. We have only 3 meetings as a total for October. For in person meetings, we should possibly be meeting for now on in the Center of Social Concern.

Ava: Presenting updates on street interviews, asking the committee if anyone has any funny or interesting questions for it, can be sent here.
- Ava: Dream St. Paul rotation?
Tola: Had a meeting with KSAS Dean and the conversation came up with being more engaged with social media & Tola learned from the Dean that she is willing to have an interview conducted on her for the social media. Kristen: Asks Tola to follow up this information with President Vishnu. Ava: Presents an idea for community binding in social media, which is shadowing an employee. Kristen: Second order of business. Conducting a pilot of campus interviews. Questions we want to ask, details about it, Ava leading it & basically receiving approval. Kristen: We as a committee are requested to be more communicative at teams & must give a good example to the new freshman class we’ll get to meet in the next gbm. Kristen: Next Steps, Caroline sent an email to student groups. Everyone to add thoughts on potential social media videos & figuring out a plan in terms of piloting posts/videos. Asks Jingyan if she can add herself to certain initiatives. Kirsten: Requests for all committee members to add their initiatives to a specific document by the end of today.
