As a subsequent step, we are working on an interactive Accessible Wayfinding App, slated for release in Spring 2024. • On April 14, 2023, Hopkins launched the university-wide Disability Inclusion Advisory Committee (DIAC), reporting to the Provost and chaired by a faculty member. • SDS introduced a Newsletter, "Breaking Down Barriers" (BDB) in May 2023. • There is a new MyLearning program available to faculty and staff on Disability Inclusion at JHU. • SDS appointments can now be scheduled through Microsoft Bookings. SDS Exam Accommodation Support Homewood exam space in Shaffer has expanded with the addition of Shaffer 100, and renovations are planned to increase the number of carrels and seats, reconfiguring the space to enhance storage and reduce distractions. Faculty receive a link to the exam agreement in all accommodation letter that include exam accommodations • Most faculty provide accommodations directly and they are not required to let SDS know if they are doing that; SDS does have a mechanism where they can report this to us (we ask for it). • Students with any concerns about exam accommodations or any other accommodation should contact their SDS advisor as a first step • We also have a new professional staff member Meredith Harris who is overseeing the exam accommodation process; she is another person who can be contacted • SDS also now has a daily staff member on call who can assist with urgent matters • The testing space in Shaffer 100 is slated to get new carrels and to be connected directly to Shaffer 101 so students can all check in within the front area and then enter the exam space • Scheduling exams as early as possible is critical ---please! Integrated Electronic Health Records (EHR) Electronic Health Records (EHR) • Facilitate the implementation of a single, shared EHR that enables SHWB clinicians and administrators to promote campus well-being by providing holistic, comprehensive care to students and learners • This project will power SHWB's journey toward becoming an integrated, collaborative unit -across all three locations: Homewood, East Baltimore, DC Benefits of shared EHR • Support communication, collaboration, and innovation in clinical and administrative practices • Enable holistic care • Reduce errors • Increase efficiency • Enable data-driven decision-making Expansion of Services | DC Centralizing the location for student health and well-being in DC (555 Pennsylvania Avenue) provides the opportunity for: • Expanded Mental Health Services, Primary Care services, and Health Promotion by experienced JHU staff and providers • Centralized DC hub for Student Disability Services • Expanded ability to provide outreach and participate in on-site programs • Increased engagement with students • Consultation, training, and support for faculty in supporting students • Expanded opportunities for training and awareness raising • Holistic, team approach to supporting students • Better able to support complex student needs Questions & Answers
