SGA prepares for Halloween with JHU Haunted House Funding Bill

The Student Government Association (SGA) held its weekly general body meeting on Oct. 3 and voted on the Attendance Bylaws Amendment Bill, JHU Haunted House Funding Bill, Phi Delta Theta Crab Fest Funding Bill 2.0 and Student Perspective Interview Initiative Bill.
Dunbar Baldwin Hughes (DBH) 30th Anniversary Gala Funding Bill
Junior Class Senator Brandon Benjamin motioned to overturn a bill granting funding to the DBH 30th Anniversary Gala Event on Oct. 14.
Attendance Bylaws Amendment Bill
Sophomore Class President Stone Meng introduced the Attendance Bylaws Amendment Bill, sponsored by Sophomore Class Senator Gabriel Granados.
JHU Haunted House Funding Bill
The Freshman Programming Council presented the bill, which requests funding for an SGA-sponsored Halloween event as a means of strengthening connections within the Hopkins student body.
Phi Delta Theta Crab Fest Funding Bill 2.0
School of Engineering Academic Senator Sabour Shaik and Phi Delta Theta (Phi Delt) Member Maahi Ameer presented the bill, which attempts to secure funding for an all-you-can-eat crab event hosted by Phi Delt.
Student Perspective Interview Initiative Bill
Senior Class Senator Christian Bakhit introduced the Student Perspective Interview Initiative Bill, which aims to collect information from 10 undergraduates who represent the different majors, backgrounds and years that make up the student body.
Chair of Fundraising on KSAS Shared Governance Council
SGA members nominated and voted for School of Arts and Sciences Academic Senator Tim Huang as the new Chair of Fundraising on the School of Arts and Sciences Shared Governance Council (SGC), a group of students with insight into the curricular goals at the School of Arts and Sciences.
