  1. Surveys on student engagement in class
    1. For the purpose of establishing a student engagement committee that rewards student engagement
  2. What counts as student engagement?
    1. Including things like iclicker
      1. If so asking professors for iclicker data
    2. Or just when there’s communication between student and professor?
      1. Looking at data from lecture halls
      2. Mid sized classrooms
      3. Small discussion classes
      4. Must also look at a range of disciplines
      5. Are these classes lower or upper level?
    3. Engagement between students?
      1. How big are groups?
      2. Does the professor initiate these conversations?
      3. Is it on the accord of the student?
  3. Interesting to look at would be measuring the time between when a professor asks if there are any questions then continuing on with lecture? (do they leave an adequate amount of time for students to formulate questions?
  4. Ask students, what they’re participation is motivated by?
    1. Curiosity
    2. Grades
    3. Confusion on subject
  5. What makes students feel more comfortable with engaging in class?
    1. Knowing their peers well?
    2. Orientation of classroom (all facing professor or circle?)
    3. Feeling that their professor wants questions/ just wants to rush through material
    4. Fear of judgement?
