SGA funds raffle to support pronoun inclusion in University technology systems

Reporting about the SGA, not a record of it: The Johns Hopkins News-Letter published this and the SGA did not write it, file it, or approve it. The archive holds it because the article itself uses the phrases “sga” and “student government”.

SGA funds raffle to support pronoun inclusion in University technology systems

By KAITLYN JUNG · The Johns Hopkins News-Letter · October 16, 2021

At its weekly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 12, the Student Government Association (SGA) passed the Women and Gender Minorities Caucus (WGMC) Funding Bill, confirmed new members and discussed the upcoming Administration (Admin) Networking Event.

WGMG Funding Bill

Senior Class Senator Niki Trivedi introduced the WGMC Funding Bill. The bill will fund a raffle for students who include personal pronouns on the University technology systems, including the myJHU portal searches, class rosters on the Student Information System and Blackboard.

Admin Networking Event

Executive President Mehak Ali described the Admin Networking Event as very useful to “talk about issues [with administration] for smaller projects about anything, e.g., dining and transportation topics” with a wide selection of administration figures.

Confirmations

SGA unanimously confirmed members to various positions.

Correction: The previous version of this article incorrectly referred to Onyinanya as Sophomore Class Senator Vanessa Obi. The News-Letter regrets this error.
