ASA organization - represent alumni during events and stuff
Said that pre-covid, SGA did a lot with ASA Now, does not but want to get back into it We have listservs and contact with students, so they want to talk with us and stuff
Annie: Do you all have any main communication plans:
- We are trying to do a key event for all events
- Freshman: Carnival for New Student Orientation
- Hershey Park trip for Sophomores
- 50 students right now, gonna try to do 100
- Bought 100 tickets already but buses are expensive
- Cost $15 for students, have all you can eat picnic and stuff
- Tim: Ask sophomore chair for programming about this
- Get vishnu to email students about this
- Happy Hour and Bird and Hand for Juniors (SPRING)
- Senior Celebration for Seniors (SPRING)
- Tent is part of alumni weekend (wyman quad)
- Either free or $5 for students
- Saturday night of alumni weekend
- Free food and drinks, giveaway
Alumni Weekend:
- Next weekend: 20th, 21st
- Has Tent Party
- Has event on friday (20th) at bird and hand - opening this up to Juniors and Seniors
- SGA and ASA juniors and seniors only
- $5 ticket entry for food, two drink tickets (can get other drinks than alcohol)
Other events in the Fall: Class Ring Company
- Third party, cannot do it
- Maybe let students know about the class ring, will be at Barnes and Nobles at X times
Applications for apply for a free class ring too - sponsor by alumni council
Jackson’s idea of SGA Alumni and Current SGA events
- Open to the idea, is it going to be a space to co-mingle and just do cool connections or some sort of leadership idea? Will et into it
- Idea will be in March
- We have to look for some alumni, but alumni recently swapped lists and maybe we can do it
- Cosponsor event (we pay half and they do half) - Annie will ask about that
Symposium speaker series?
- Refer to the HOP
Giveaways
- Our job is to mainly get feedback from students so having giveaways from alumni association could be useful
- Potentially a leadership workshop collaboration on how to get connected with students
