On October 22, 2024, the Student Government Association organized the Communities of Color Forum, where undergraduate students get to discuss the impacts of affirmative action on Johns Hopkins University's handling of the issue, insights regarding the Class of 2028 demographics, and expectations from the SGA, Admissions and Administration.
During this meeting, representatives (namely from the Black Student Union and OLÉ Latine Student Group) expressed their concerns and criticisms. These mainly covered the following:
- The University must actively continue to come up with solutions to increase and maintain the diversity of the community, potentially by increasing their outreach to high schools and …
- Underrepresented minorities who are currently studying at Hopkins should be supported by:

- From now on, SGA should keep its transparency in announcing to the student body the initiatives they will create to support the minorities that were affected by this decision. SGA must act as the voice of these groups and work to give them opportunities where they can get their opinions heard.
During this meeting, SGA also received feedback to the survey and resolution they have prepared in response to this situation, which will be shared with the student body as soon as possible. We thank everyone who participated in this meeting and presented their input.
