Be it enacted by the Senate of the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University assembled that:

SECTION 1. TITLE.

This Act may be referred to as the “ SGA Rage Room Funding Bill”

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS. a. SGA — The term “SGA” shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University. b. JHU, Hopkins — The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to Johns Hopkins University.

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES

1. Findings
   1. SGA is required to do a tabling event once a month per the bylaws
   2. Having a tabling with respectively-themed giveaway items proves to be a great way to engage with the student body and receive feedback
   3. Students are very stressed during midterms (which last basically all semester)

b. PURPOSES i. This provides a way for students to release stress ii. This could replace a tabling for the month Tabling events engage with the student body and receive student feedback to inspire new legislation iii. Potential Questions What events do you want to see on campus? What are some of your favorite Hopkins traditions? What do you want SGA senators to know about you and your experiences on campus? What issues are you facing on campus/at Johns Hopkins? What do you think is the primary responsibility of the SGA?

SECTION 4. PROCEDURE AND FUNDING OF ITEM

To be on the Keyser, Wyman, or Decker Quad on sometime late March to early April

Possible Activities:

Rage room

50 people per hour

“200 people, we could definitely fit them all through in a 3-4 hour time”

Archery

“archery unit can see 48 people an hour with up to four people shooting at a time”

and more…

Includes discount of $200 per additional unit

1. Estimated cost is $3400 out of the general SGA budget.

SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY.

Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional, the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

The Bill hereby PASSES/FAILS by a vote of X to X with X abstentions.

Upon passage, we have hereunto set our hands and caused the seal of the Senate to be affixed to this bill indicating the Senate’s assent and thus officially designated the bill’s adoption as law.
