An SGA Event Funding Bill

Act to Fund Academic Affairs Spring Tabling event

Introduced by: Chair Kevin of the Academic Affairs Committee Sponsored by: Vice Chair Tola of the Academic Affairs Committee and Chair Jazzlyn of the CSO Committee Considered this the day of Feb 17 in the year 2026

SECTION 1. TITLE. This Act may be referred to as the “Academic Affairs Spring Tabling Funding Bill”

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS.

1. SGA — The term “SGA” shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University.
2. JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University.
3. AA – Academic Affairs Committee in SGA

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

1. Students find the overloading policy inflexible, especially under the current Foundational Abilities system
2. We will use this tabling event as an opportunity to reach more students and gather student feedback through the credit overloading survey
3. Members of AA will be present to provide updates on academic related initiatives and clarifications and support with academic planning to the best of our abilities.
4. This event will take place on Monday March 2.

SECTION 4. FUNDING OF ITEMS

1. total will be $219.96

SECTION 5 . SEVERABILITY. Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional or , the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

SECTION 6 . ACTION ITEMS.

Tabling is planned for Monday, March 2nd from 11-1PM at the Bloomberg Student Center (03/02/2026).

The Bill hereby Passes by a vote of x to x with x abstentions.

Upon passage, we have hereunto set our hands and caused the seal of the Senate to be affixed to this bill indicating the Senate’s assent and thus officially designated the bill’s adoption as law.
