AN SGA FUNDING BILL

ACT TO FUND SGA Spring Cleaning Funding Bill

INTRODUCED BY: CHAIR TYLER TURNER OF THE PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE

CONSIDERED THE DAY OF 31 IN THE MONTH OF March IN THE YEAR 2026

SECTION 1. TITLE This Act may be referred to as “The SGA Closet Organizing Funding Bill.”

SECTION 2. FINDINGS & PURPOSES

  1. SGA — The term SGA shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University.
  2. JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

  1. Ensure the SGA storage closet is cleaned, reorganized, and standardized before the end of the academic year to promote operational efficiency and accessibility of materials.
  2. Establish a comprehensive and sustainable inventory system to accurately track all items within the SGA closet.
    • i. Categorization of materials*
    • ii. Documentation of quantities and condition*
    • iii. Implementation of a tracking method for future use*
  3. Address ongoing inefficiencies caused by the lack of organization and inventory oversight, which have resulted in misplaced items, duplication of purchases, and barriers to effective event planning.
  4. Support continuity across leadership transitions by ensuring incoming members have clear access to organized resources and documented inventory.

SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY.

Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional, or remainder of the Act, the amendments made by the Act, and the application of such provision or amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

UPON PASSAGE, WE HAVE HEREUNTO SET OUR HANDS AND CAUSED THE SEAL OF THE SENATE TO BE AFFIXED TO THIS BILL INDICATING THE SENATE’S ASSENT AND THUS OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED THE BILL’S ADOPTION AS LAW.
