113th Senate Committee on Civic Engagement

Meeting began at 2:35pm
Kirsten: First order of business, deciding the Vice Chair Alan Perez self-nominated and was selected as Vice Chair of the Civic Engagement Committee. No other contenders. Kirsten: Explained the role of Vice Chair, will talk in depth with Alan offline. Kirsten: Second order of business, upcoming meeting with Willow Goode (CSC Civic Life Specialist). Are there any initiatives the committee would like to talk with her about? Alan: Exposing people to learn about their local elections, Hopkins has a high population of first time voters. Midterm season is coming up and we should have an info session Kirsten: Will bring that up to Willow. Any other initiatives? No committee members had any pressing initiatives. Kirsten sent a PDF of initiatives talked about during the leadership retreat to brief members who weren’t there. Kirsten: Will share PDF with Willow during the meeting and get her thoughts on what we can do within the committee. Kirsten: Committee Members please let me know your other committee involvements and meeting times.
