Study Space 4: No new carpeting, but leaving the ‘Dark Academia’ vibes (Will remove curtains!) Study Space 5: Other big Archway Rooms - not keeping the furniture (chairs are not enough versus how many library participants there are) Study Space 7: Small Room, has spiral staircase
Hopkins Club: 300 Seats Hodson: 200 Seats (With Graduate Student Space Only in 3rd floor)
Regarding the Billiard Tables: Have to be moved because of ADA compliance (non-ADA compliant rooms cannot have anything extra compared to ADA compliant rooms)
- Billiard tables are being donated to Baltimore Company
- If you want Billiard Tables in Res Halls, contact Student Affairs (Ask sga)
LATEST TIMELINE THINGS: Will not be doing NEW furniture for the NEW library until the Fall STUDENT CENTER: MAY 2025 Spring Fair will have showcase of Student Center
Questions
- Computer Usage: Where are public computers?
- No plans for public computers like before
- Potential thoughts of putting them in other areas (Hodson, Gilman) if students desire (MCAT studying, faster usage)
- Individual Study Space Reservations
- No plan to have individual study space reservations
- General consensus that those should not come back
- Group Study Booking
- Will use same booking software (25me)
- Different Size Tables
- Will indeed have different sized tables
- We can tell that people who don’t know each other will sit apart
- Dispersal of Campus Community
- By being able to concentrate most of library services and needs into the Hopkins Clubs (will definitely expand during exam season), we should be able to maintain sense of community despite it being farther
- It’s not quite the same, but the work that is being done with Hodson/Hopkins Club will be helpful (expected that Hutzler will be different since reference material and more)
- Art History currently have reserved carrols, will be going away with that
- Circulator Route Changes
- New Shuttle Stop at the library for transloc (or whatever)
- Coordinate with Dining for food trucks/study breaks
- Student Advisory Committee for the Library
- Will be set in the fall
- Furniture will be top priority
