Senatorial Vacancies

FSL Senator Yashas Mallikarjun (Secret Ballot)

  1. Foster collaboration between traditional and cultural Greek organizations through large-scale fundraising events, creating a campus tradition that raises money for charity and improves integration of Greek life with the broader campus community.
  2. Advocate for relaxed initial recruitment requirements for emerging cultural organizations in Greek life, enhancing accessibility for a diverse range of students and supporting the longevity and growth of these groups.
  3. Maintain a respectful yet firm approach in engaging with school faculty and administration, representing student organization interests effectively while ensuring mutual respect and understanding between students and campus authorities.

FSL Senator Jasmine Kaur (Secret Ballot)

  1. Leveraging current role as VP Panhellenic of Kappa Alpha Theta to maintain connections with various FSL organizations on campus, ensuring a broad representation and understanding of their needs and perspectives.
  2. Preparing for a transition to VP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within Kappa Alpha Theta, indicating a shift towards a more focused role but potentially reducing direct involvement with other FSL groups.
  3. Aiming to become the RSO senator for FSL life, with a goal to use the experience and connections gained as VP Panhellenic to enhance FSL at Hopkins, making it more inclusive and welcoming for new students.

• MEEPAC Leadership: Established the Middle East Educational Programming Advisory Committee (MEEPAC) to promote dialogue on international issues at Hopkins during the Israel-Palestine conflict. • SGA and SNF Agora Engagement: Engaged with the SGA and SNF Agora Institute to improve campus dialogue and education on communication strategies for sensitive topics. • Diverse Service Experience: Served as a Community Health Worker, volunteer EMT in Baltimore, and Volunteer Coordinator at a local masjid. • Bmore Community Food Collaboration: Collaborated with Bmore Community Food to develop innovative food distribution systems in Baltimore. • Curriculum Integration Advocacy (Future Goal): Aims to advocate for integrating community service into KSAS & WSE curricula for enhanced student involvement in Baltimore. • Homewood Bubble Initiative (Future Goal): Committed to breaking the “Homewood Bubble” by involving Baltimore community members in campus life.
