Act to Fund MELA event

SECTION 1. TITLE. This Act may be referred to as the “XXX Funding Bill”

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS.

1. SGA — The term “SGA” shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University.
2. JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University.
3. SASH— The term SASH shall refer to the South Asian Students at Hopkins
4. SAS—- The term SAS shall refer to the South Asian Studies minor committee

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

1. FINDINGS & PURPOSES (explain why funding is needed, what the event is for, and what content and sponsorship is desired -- open to all? Celebrating event? Etc. )
2. This bill is to help promote the SAS minor survey to students that attend the Mela run by SASH. South Asia is currently the only world region not represented by the academic offerings at JHU, and we are working to ensure this gap is rectified. A key provision in creating this minor is assessing student interest, and understanding what they would like to see in this minor.

SECTION 4. FUNDING OF ITEMS

1. The total amount would be $92.65

SECTION 5 . SEVERABILITY. Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional or , the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

The Bill hereby Passes by a vote of x to x with x abstentions.

Upon passage, we have hereunto set our hands and caused the seal of the Senate to be affixed to this bill indicating the Senate’s assent and thus officially designated the bill’s adoption as law.
