SGA Executive Board Advisor Meeting Nov 11, 2024 / 8 am EDT / Teams Virtual Meeting

  1. Finance Report-Brandon
    1. 16,118 USD is left in our discretionary.
    2. Finance Discussion-Stone
      1. The Chinese Students Association sent an email. Most of the clubs that email Stone are frustrated about their allocations. They either think it’s too little or it’s not visible yet. Stone believes that we should advertise the possibility of applying for an event grant. Brandon reassured that these will be resolved as soon as possible.
      2. Brandon talked about a club who requested too much money, which was higher than even SGA’s yearly budget.
      3. Stone also highlighted that there are some clubs who don’t know how to apply to event grants, so Brandon will work on an Instagram post.
  2. Agenda Overview-Nasreen
    1. Nasreen said that we have a pretty empty agenda for the next meeting. There will be a more in depth discussion for the resolution written by Cynthia and Nayshawn. Feedback from Charles is in the resolution. She didn’t get the final version yet.
    2. Everything else that was in first reading in the last meeting will be in second reading.
    3. There will be the confirmations of new senators and assistant secretaries.
    4. Stone also didn’t receive any other agenda items. Stone asked if we should have a short discussion on the election results. Stone made it clear that he thinks we shouldn’t send a statement regarding the elections.
    5. Buse asked if we can have cohort time so that she can train her assistants, which Nasreen approved.
    6. Stone is looking for candidates for the Judiciary.

    1. Stone asked Tim if he would show the sticker design in the GBM. Tim won’t be in the meeting, but Jazzlyn will show it. Tim said that this bill has to be on the meeting agenda and approved as soon as possible.
