SGA Executive Board Advisor Meeting Feb 17, 2025 / 8 am EDT / Teams Virtual Meeting

  1. Updates from Charles–Charles
    1. Jessica filled in for him. No updates.
  2. Finance Update & Discussion–Brandon & Stone
    1. Put in all the club budgets. Just missing the ones that were not sent by the clubs yet.
    2. Stone asked how many?
    3. Around 10.
  3. Upcoming Events–Tim
    1. SGA event with Alumni Office. We will go to a bar with mocktails with SGA alumni.
    2. Fundraiser/charity idea by Tim
  4. GBM Agenda–Nas
    1. Nasreen wants to confirm that we have Jeffrey from the Registrar. Rest of the agenda will depend on whether they will be presenting.
    2. Sending out the agenda reminder is a courtesy by Nasreen. She doesn’t have to send it every week.
    3. Second reading bill for Cynthia.
    4. Amy and Tanisha will make a presentation for the mentorship program.
    5. Jessica will follow up with the Registrar.
    6. Registrar needs to change the date. Charles and Dr. Brown are working on it.
    7. Tim asked what she meant by courtesy.
    8. Nasreen said that sending out the agenda reminder is not in the constitution or bylaws. Senators should know. She doesn’t need to send the reminder.
    9. Tim asked if he should just send the agenda.
    10. Nasreen confirmed.
  5. Next Steps–Stone
    1. Our Director of Research hasn’t been to active recently, so he will handle updates through Instagram and email.
    2. Foundational Abilities: We should help freshman senators. They’re new and this is a big issue. We will individually reach out to freshmen and see what they need. For example, what they need to do with admin meetings.
  6. Transition Mentoring–Stone
    1. It’s a little early now, but we should think about this.
  7. Stone: Speed dating event is on February 22nd, and we still didn’t get approval for the email. When will we get it?
  8. Jessica: Forward it to me and I will check.
  9. Stone: I don’t want to bypass Charles but he has been working on this for the last 2 months.
  10. Jessica: I will remind him and nudge Brown.
