Timely updates to students on course registration implemented ● Email ● Text ● This is for WSE only. ● Dean Kimberley Zing ● From previous discussion about social media posting ○ Maintaining a social media presence is difficult with only a few posts a year Suggestion to Deans: Pushing out a “good teaching practices” announcement to professors (e.g. exam revision) A number of changes are in the works ● CUE2: recommends removing curves ○ However, curves are helpful for hard exams ● Prior prior provost: Support for early career professors from pedagogy oriented professors ○ In 2 month: separate academic councils (academic governance), might start looking at this idea again Generally, things in academia move slowly Policy changes need to be implemented properly ● Flipped classroom implementation: students find physics flipped classrooms more stressful but get better results.
