A Bill Updating the SGA Bylaws to Update the Chair of Programming Position

Be it enacted by the Senate of the Student Government Association at Johns Hopkins University assembled that:

  1. TITLE This Act may be referred to as the “Chair of Programming Bylaws Update Bill”
  2. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES
    1. FINDINGS
      1. The chair of programming does too much work.
      2. If we want someone to run for the chair of programming, changes need to be made.
    2. PURPOSES
      1. To amend the Bylaws of the Student Government Association at Johns Hopkins University to fit the current structure and practices of the SGA.

3.2.1.7.8.8 At the beginning of each semester, the Student Body President shall organize a sign-up sheet, reserve an event space, and arrange any purchases for every month of the semester.

4.1.2.1.4.8 COMMITTEE ON PROGRAMMING 4.1.2.1.4.8.1 Creates SGA Tabling Events, Workshops, and general SGA events. 4.1.2.1.4.8.2 The Chair of Programming will lead this Committee, with assistance of a vice-chair that is elected from within the committee. 4.1.2.1.4.8.3 All Programming Council Members must be on this committee. Additional members from all of the Student Government may join this committee. 4.1.2.1.4.8.4 Class specific events, such as formals, will be led by the respective Class Council of Programming members with assistance from the Committee of Programming and other Student Government constituents. ___________________ 4.3.3.1.4 Attendance at Class Programming Council meetings is required for all members of a respective Class Programming Council, with the exception that attendance shall be optional for members of the Class Council who are also legislative Senators.

4.1.2.1.4.8 COMMITTEE ON PROGRAMMING 4.1.2.1.4.8.1 Creates SGA Tabling Events, Workshops, and general SGA events. 4.1.2.1.4.8.2 The Chair of Programming will lead this Committee. 4.1.2.1.4.8.3 The Committee will focus on SGA school-wide events and consist of members from the legislative branch of the Student Government Association. 4.1.2.1.4.8.4 Class specific events, such as formals, will be led by the Coordinator for Class Councils within the Office of LEED, alongside respective Class Programming Members. The Chair of Programming will act as a liaison between the class programming councils and the general SGA. ----------------------------------- 4.3.3.1.4 Attendance at Class Programming Council meetings is required for all members of a respective class programming council, and optional for the Chair of Programming.
