- Introduction
- Dr. Brown started the meeting with an introduction about the new construction site starting right after the orientation week. She opened up the space for SGA members to ask any questions.
- SGA Executive members and administrative guests did a brief introduction.
- Mr. Coyle shared a presentation on A, steam line replacement B, AMR 1 and Hopkins Dining project, and C, Homewood construction project.
- Steam Line Replacement
- Mr. Coyle explained the steam line replacement was required due to the fallen existing steam line. This project will enable AMR 1 construction project as well as achieving the university sustainability goals.
- He shared a campus map and a construction timeline. Starting in August, the steam line construction project will start at the library.
- He explained there will be loud noises and machineries involved. The construction period will be 9am-5pm/ 8 hours per day. There will be around 8 trucks a day.
- He shared a map of limits of disturbance + fences will be. The area in freshman quad will be blocked in late august after everyone has moved in. He underlined that the construction will be stopped during the exam week.
- Vishnu asked if the truck path will be blocked as well.
- Mr. Coyle explained it will be blocked.
- Ms. Emily followed up with Mr. Coyle that there will be more path travel options made.
- Srigouri asked potential disturbance for delivery access.
- Mr. Coyle answered the disturbance will be very minimum.
- May 2026 - Aug 2028 Phase three will involve AMR 1 construction thus the AMR 1 and surrounding area will be limit of disturbance area.
- June 2025- involves steam line construction under the REC center. It has been started already, but the project is planned to be during off time and will be ceased during the big events.
- Mr. Coyle introduced the way finding app.
- AMR 1 & Dining Project
- Mr. Coyle explained the goal and outcome of AMR 1 dining replacement project. Many studies and surveys were done to design this new project. Workshops, Furniture fair, and Culnary R&D ( students providing menus to dining team) have been taken place.
- New dining will be located right next to the current AMR 1 facility on the beach side.
- Before student center, there was no facilities that engaged with charles street. With the student center, the south side of the entrance will be a big interaction point with charles street. The AMR 1 dining will open up another engagement spot on the north of the charles street entrance.
- Mr. Coyle showed there will be 200+ more beds in AMR 1 and 500 seatings in the dining.
- There will be more outside social spaces around the building, and another accessible site to freshman quad from charles street.
- Vishnu asked if the floors will be renovated in AMR 1.
- Mr. Coyle answered the entire AMR 1 will be taken down.
- Ms. Emily followed up that the first floor of AMR 1 and dining will be social purpose and residence area will only be upper floors.
- Srigouri asked if the housing style will be 2 to 1.
- Mr. Coyle and Ms. Emily answered the style will be remained and there will be two social spaces.
- Omotara asked where the students will be replaced to.
- Ms. Calhoun explained these students will be replaced to Mccoy and for more capacity availability university will open up the Academy and wolman portion.
- Residential and dining construction will take place in May of 2026 after exams. Residential portion is planned to be ready to open for fall of 2028, and dining facility in 2029.
- Homewood Construction Projects
- MSEL is planned to be finished in Jan 2027. Baseball net will be set for the safety reasons for fall 2025. Early Learning Center, which is located past the Imagine Center, will be built by summer 2026. Agora construction will be done in fall 2025. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute will be done in Summer 2029.
- Vishnu asked about if the steam line construction 3 and 4 will block the right side of the beach and access to the science buildings.
- Mr. Coyle explained the access from AMR 1 to the dining facilities will be disturbed.
- Srigouri asked when we will be able to relate these information to the rest of the student body.
- Dr. Brown explained the next student group to be notified will be FYMs and RAs. She is also open to collaborate with SGAs to create any contents or announcement to share with the student body.
- Charles suggested SGAs doing a video walking around the new construction site ro share with the student body.

Questions:
- What do the streamlines do? Like will replacing them affect other parts of student life outside of just construction?
- Will walking up the Beach into the freshman quad be blocked off with steamline one construction?
- Wil the pathways always be blocked, can vehicles still drive up in the parking lot area the location between AMRI and AMRII is a hot spot for food deliveries, blue jay shuttle, etc (Nov-Feb)?
