SECTION 1. TITLE. This Act may be referred to as the “SGA Budgeting Workshop Funding Bill”

SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS.

  1. SGA — The term “SGA” shall refer to the Student Government Association of The Johns Hopkins University.
  2. JHU, Hopkins - The terms “JHU” and “Hopkins” shall refer to the Johns Hopkins University.
  3. The SGA Leadership Workshop Series - The term “SGA Leadership Workshop Series” shall refer to the series of leadership workshops initiated by Timothy Huang, with aims to target Student Organization leaders in educating how to create events and increase member participation.

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.

  1. FINDINGS & PURPOSES (explain why funding is needed, what the event is for, and what content and sponsorship is desired -- open to all? Celebrating event? Etc. )
  2. Throughout the years, there have been many questions raised by various student leaders about the machinations of SGA finance and LEED. As many student organizations rely on funding from SGA, the bridge between our student leaders and ourselves is as important as working with administrators and is crucial to improve the experience of the JHU student body.
  3. Thus, this first leadership workshop will serve as a way for student leaders to meet the faces of SGA - specifically whichever senators want to help explain the topic at hand - and learn to collaborate with other senators to understand more of the ways event planning work.
  4. This first event will be focused on the finance side, specifically as a follow up to RSO 101, where we talk about more direct ways to access the SGA guidelines, what the SGA guidelines mean, how to present with us, and how to work with us to get your event working. This event will also document fundraiser opportunities.
  5. The event will be around 1 hour, with time for food, a presentation, a Q & A, and a kahoot to win prizes!

SECTION 4. FUNDING OF ITEMS

  1. The total amount would be $365
  2. Need $365

SECTION 5 . SEVERABILITY. Should any provision of this Act, an amendment made by this Act, or the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstance be held to be unconstitutional or , the remainder of this Act, the amendments made by this Act, and the application of such provision or amendment to any person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

The Bill hereby Passes by a vote of x to x with x abstentions.

Upon passage, we have hereunto set our hands and caused the seal of the Senate to be affixed to this bill indicating the Senate’s assent and thus officially designated the bill’s adoption as law.
