  2. In the Spring of 2023, the Fiji Islander Party successfully raised over $5,000 for the Baltimore Design School, emphasizing its potential for meaningful community contribution and aligning with SGA's mission of fostering student involvement with the Baltimore community.
  3. SGA’s co-sponsorship of the Fiji Islander Party in the Spring of 2022 not only bolstered the event's visibility but also reinforced the SGA's commitment to supporting student-led initiatives that benefit both the university and the wider community.
  4. Feedback from previous events have highlighted the FIJI Islander Party's role in enhancing campus culture and spirit. The event is a significant philanthropic endeavor and a long-established tradition for student interaction, relaxation, and enjoyment, contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the student body.
  5. The FIJI Islander Party fosters a sense of community among Johns Hopkins University students and provides an opportunity for them to decompress from the academic pressures they face.
  6. The FIJI Islander Party plays a role in supporting childhood cancer research and families affected by cancer, by raising funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. By directing proceeds from the event to this foundation, the party significantly contributes to advancing research into new treatments and cures for childhood cancer, and raising awareness and supporting families to help cure pediatric cancer. This initiative is crucial as it not only aids in the fight against childhood cancer but also fosters a culture of giving back among Johns Hopkins University students, reinforcing the importance of community engagement and social responsibility.
    1. Our commitment extends beyond financial support, as exemplified by the personal story of our brother, Junior Dan Turner, who battled cancer with the assistance of Alex's Lemonade Stand. Dan's enduring relationship with the foundation has inspired us to choose to collaborate with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
