- RSO — Registered Student Organization

SECTION 3. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES.
- Purpose and Rationale
- RSO Finance has historically been a challenging area for student organizations to navigate. The Student Body Treasurer and the FC Chair receive a high volume of weekly inquiries related to budget submissions, purchasing requests, and general HG troubleshooting. To address these recurring issues and reduce administrative burden, this bill proposes the establishment of an RSO Finance Workshop.
- Event Description
- The workshop will consist primarily of a structured presentation and an interactive activity component, designed to address frequently asked questions and common obstacles encountered by RSO treasurers.
- The event will also provide an opportunity to survey RSO treasurers on specific challenges within the RSO funding and finance process.
- Intended Outcomes
- The workshop will hopefully reduce the volume of inquiries directed at FC regarding RSO budgets.
- Survey results collected during the workshop will be used to inform potential improvements within the FC and, where applicable, with other collaborating departments. The goal is to use data-driven feedback to improve clarity, efficiency, and accessibility of RSO financial processes.
- Attendance and Incentives
- To encourage participation, RSOs whose treasurers attend and remain for the full duration of the workshop will be eligible to receive a $50 cash incentive.
- While the incentive is directed toward RSO treasurers, the workshop will be open to all students interested in learning more about RSO Finance.
- Logistics and Attendance Projections
- The event will be held on February 25, from 7:00-8:00 PM, in [location to be determined]. Of ~190 recognized student organizations, attendance is projected at roughly 50 RSOs.
