    1. PRDC Confirmation - President Ryan Chou
      1. Jason Shumsky as Director of Research/Chair of PRDC. Jason has already taken on an internal leadership position. Per cabinet discussion + Vanessa’s recommendation, Jason would be an excellent candidate for Director of Research/Chair of PRDC.

Turning over DBH Theater Gala event, unanimous.

        1. About 1 week out from justice nomination. Been evaluating applications, closing in on having that ready.

        1. Director of disability/inclusion is in ODI, Nathan Stenberg, good connection for disability caucus. Please respond to 2 things in General on mental health/SDS presentation.
      3. Student Body Secretary - Secretary Amy Li

        1. Discussing retreat which is on agenda

        1. Hopefully we’ll get to rhythm with placards etc. Productive convo on exec/advisor meetings regarding collaboratio with other office. Fall retreat discussion, student center construction, library renovation.
        2. Sustainability+Admissions+other offices coming to present.

        1. Affirmative action polling, coming up with policy advice for admissions

      1. Good meetings with exec board, not many updates.
  4. Non-Legislative Business (15 min)

    1. Fall Retreat Conversation - President Dalhart Dobbs, President Ryan Chou, Vice President Morris, Programming Chair Shalala Leny
      1. On campus weekend retreat, 4 hrs, floating for end of october, weekend after fall break.
      2. Jackson: make it as useful/fun/least boring as possible. Feel free to give suggestions. Propose moderated caucus.
      3. Jaden: No formal definition of moderated caucus. No need for speaking time. Motion for Q/A and moderated caucus is identical. Let us all agree that moderated caucus doesn’t need speaking time, informally agree.
      4. Stone: Motion for 10 minute moderated caucus, no defined speaking times.
        1. Regarding fall retreat: one or two days? Meeting? Suggests hotpot.
        2. Shalala: not planned for multiple days. Make it fun and social. Open to suggestions.
      5. Jackson: Piloted kahoot at leadership gathering with fun facts. Thinks would be fun for a larger body. Likes hotpot idea.
        1. Charles: would need food permit
      6. Gabriel Granadas: proposed shared Google doc.
      7. Dalhart: experience in past retreats, was thinking about interactive activities. Excursion type things, like escape rooms.
      8. Tim: do we have budget for this yet? No cap?
        1. Shalala: not really, most budget comes from food/entertainment aspects.
        2. Jenny: $5000 for SGA stuff.
      9. Stone: Agree with dalhart on interactive part, gym and dodgeball. The hop can use leftover budget to go to hotpot and dinners.
        1. Charles: not leftover budget, planned, open to the entire campus.
        2. Stone: event that is poorly advertised?
      10. Omar: is retreat required?
        1. Dalhart: yes unless extenuating circumstance.
      11. Jackson: looking more to social gateherings outside of SGA, official or unofficial. Does anybody want to take on role .
  5. First Reading

    1. SGA Bylaw Amendment Bill - President Stone Meng
      1. Sponsor is Gabe.
      2. Speaking on behalf of IA.
      3. First part is fine tuning more details abt attendance.
      4. 9 excused absences for every senator, made to 10.
      5. Originally 3 extra excused for every committee, now 4 extra excused
      6. All unexcused count towards excused
      7. Role call at beginning and end of GBM.
      8. Added attendance incentive. 1 unexcused to excused. 1 excused to present.
      9. Jaden refers bill to IA, unanimous pass.
    2. Haunted House Funding Bill & Presentation - Freshman Programming Council
      1. Want to do haunted house trip to inner harbor, make availblae to whole student body.
      2. Will be this year’s SGA halloween event.
      3. The nevermore haunt. - purpose is to connect whole student body. See additional details in Bill/Presentation.
      4. Asking for $2400 for tickets, Taxes $144. Total amount would be $2544.
      5. Promotion via hopkins groups, mass email, insta, max capacity is 120.
      6. Tim: Hop has a very similar event.
  6. Second Reading

    1. DBH Theater Gala Funding Bill & Presentation - Senator Brandon Benjamin
    2. Student Perspective Interview Initiative Bill & Presentation- Senator Christian Bakhit
      1. Talked to CMC, DMC, DMC is not willing to help with recording staff. Looking to work with them on advertising.
      2. Bill was focused on trying to add event we do, will be able to hear from student body more.
      3. If students are interested, we can show clips on websites or instagram
      4. Included 12 more blue jay plushies to reward staff/students who help.
      5. Stone: motion to amend bill to say October 14th instead of 20th.
      6. Jaden: 10 minute q/a with 1 min speaking time
        1. Jaden: How much does blue jay cost with taxes?
          1. No taxes
      7. Motion to vote: Unanimous passing of bill.
    3. Joy on Wheels Funding Bill - President Resham Talwar
      1. Resham not present.
      2. Jackson motions to table postpone.
    4. Phi Delta Theta Crab-Fest Bill 2.0 - Senator Sabour Shaik & Maahi Ameer
      1. Projection looking great, as of 6:57 pm, had 200 ppl in sales.
      2. Need more crabs - Asking for 875 for 5 bushels of crabs. See bill or additional details.
      3. Not yet at break even point, final funding should tip over, any extra will go to profit.
      4. Jackson: needs 2 cosponsors
      5. Stone: Motion to address senate - thinks we should have moderated caucus/ motion to debate
      6. Srigori - numbers on campus groups don’t add up, but reassured- confirmed with leed staff.
      7. Funding bill passed.
  7. Prospective Legislation & Announcements (5 min)

    1. HopThon Collaboration - President Dalhart Dobbs
      1. Looking for chair of Fundraising/ team.
      2. Ryan Chou: KSAS shared governance council - group of students who have overarching impact/insight into curricular goals into KSAS. Includes staff and faculty. Review policy issues that impact KSAS. Ask to elect 1 from SGA.
        1. Jaden nominates self.
          1. Main goals was to review curriculum for KSAS regarding BS/MS programs, why not BS or BA vice versa.
        2. Tim nominates self.
          1. Already vice chair on academic affairs, already in contact with deans, also on KSAS curriculum affair thing(?)
          2. Resham and Tim are doing presentation abt this in the future.
          3. Currently doing a major fair
        3. Jazzlyn nomatines self.
          1. Freshman programming council
          2. As class of 2027, look out for future of Hopkins
          3. Were able to work with research/teaching professors to balance numbers out
          4. See from exactly inside sources, exactly where going wrong. Should have promise of teaching profs caring for them.
        4. Omotara nominates self.
          1. Freshman senator. Bridging gap between students/faculty. Main points of campaign. Tried to expand course flexbilitly / opportunities to explore interests. Very interested in working with DEI in light of affirmative action decision.
        5. Voting results: Candidate 2 (Tim) wins for position on Shared Governance Council of KSAS.
    2. Attendance Check-Out - President Dalhart Dobbs
      1. Danial - reached out regarding mental health support. Message on teams in General if interested in meeting.
      2. Stone - meeting with vice provost hernandez regarding iclicker free,
      3. Srigori - meeting with julian, town hall in east baltimore campus. Environmental justice part of sustaiability plan.
      4. Gabriel - volunteer opportunity - project plannign to start next year. Boxing gym and community center - Mac Louise foundation/gym. Do weekly food drive every tuesday from 11:30-1, please go. Trying to get more connected to homewood campus and make an RSO.
